Shove That Pigs Foot A Little Further

The perfect second song
Learn all the Left Hand tricks!
This song is also known as Shove the Pig’s Foot, or sometimes just Shove Pig. The full name is ‘Shove the Pig’s Foot a little Further in the Fire,’ and a pig is a small piece of metal used in various types of metalwork.
Once you’ve learnt the basic stroke, you need to add in all the Left Hand techniques such as Hammer-Ons, Pull-Offs and Slides to get that extra rhythm and melody. These techniques are an integral part of the clawhammer banjo style and you need to learn them as early as possible in your learning journey.
If you are a confident learner and have already learnt the basic stroke from the free videos here on this site, this might be a good first song for you.
