Written by the great Stephen Foster way back in the 1850s, everybody still knows this song. If you’ve just started learning to play the banjo and you want to play something your friends will recognise, this is it! The melody and rhythm are mostly straightforward especially in the verse part. For the chorus pay special attention to the right hand fingering on the ascending line.
