Midnight Hour

Midnight Hour – one of the most popular songs ever written, with many professional covers and also beloved by bar bands everywhere. The melody is medium paced with few quick notes so it’s a good one to try on the banjo if you’re a complete beginner. First you’ll need to get the capo in the right place. Wilson Pickett’s version is in Eb which means capo on 8th fret. The version from the film ‘The Commitments’ is in E which means capo 9th fret. There are also some bluegrass versions out there for example by Run C&W. Take your pick!
